Spike the Stegosaurus and Trixie the Triceratops are irresistibly cute and ultra-realistic baby dinosaurs who roam freely through your event, charming absolutely everyone in their path. And when we say everyone… we mean it. Children chase them. Adults follow them. They are the new Pied Piper!
EVERYONE will have their cameras out, videoing their movements and actions – they are a Social Media magnet!
These aren’t your average walkabout characters – they blink, roar, jump, wave and scamper about with astonishing realism. They’ll dart through crowds, suddenly stop for a cuddle or photo, wave at their new fans… and yes, they can even climb stairs like cheeky little escape artists.
Operated by completely unseen remote control (cue the confused faces), guests are left utterly baffled. We’ve heard everything from “Is there a child inside?!” to “It must be AI!” – and honestly, we’re not helping solve the mystery!
Each appearance is hosted by their dedicated Dinosaur Ranger, who interacts with the crowd, shows off their adorable tricks, and keeps the energy high with fun, laughter, and a touch of Jurassic mischief.

We honestly didn’t expect them to be that real! We visited with our two children (age 5 and 8), and the moment Spike and Trixie appeared, it was absolute chaos in the best possible way. The kids were off – chasing them, laughing, trying to ‘catch’ them as they darted around. You genuinely forget they’re not real. The kids begged us to take one home as a pet! Safe to say, they were the highlight of our day – we’ve never seen the children so engaged and excited. Absolutely brilliant experience .

Spike and Trixie appeared out of nowhere at the Winter Gardens and the kids were running after them trying to get their attention like they were real animals! Ours loved how they’d suddenly stop, turn around or jump, then set off in another direction. We genuinely couldn’t work out how they were operated - there was no one nearby controlling them. At one point my eldest whispered to me, “Mum… I think they’re actually real!” Such a simple idea done incredibly well – totally unique, brilliantly executed, and a massive hit for all of us - we have tons of videos!
